The British Columbia Institute of Technology invites applications for the following position:

INSTRUCTOR
BASIC HEALTH SCIENCES
SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES

The Department of Basic Health Sciences invites applications for the position of temporary, part-time Instructor (33%), for the 2006 fall term, to teach Fundamentals of Neurology, a five hour per week course for students in the first year of the Electroneurophysiology Technology Diploma program. The course is a flexible combination of lectures, seminars, case studies, student presentations and attendance at Neurosciences Grand Rounds (Vancouver General Hospital).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Clinical experience in Electroneurophysiology preferred
Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level
Knowledge of common neurological disorders, their presentation, diagnosis and treatment is required
Bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred
Good communication skills
Team player committed to a collaborative approach as well as ability to work independently

The successful applicant will likely have a master’s degree in a related field.


TERM OF APPOINTMENT:
August 21, 2006 to December 21, 2006

SALARY RANGE:
$44,912 to $73,697 per annum
($44,912 to $76,128 per annum effective July 1, 2006)
(Placement based on education and experience; prorated based on percentage of appointment)
